Firstly, what are the qualification for MNS?
MNS is a 4 years B.Sc nursing course which commences at colleges of nursing of Armed forces medical services. All aspirants seeking for MNS officers in Indian army must have passed Senior secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination with PCB and English with not less than 50 % aggregate marks as regular student from a recognized board. Candidates who will be appearing from final year of qualifying examination during the current academic session may also apply provisionally but the candidates finally selected for the course will have to submit the proof of passing the qualifying examination with requisite subjects and marks before joining the course.
These are the eligibility criteria for MNS:
The aspirant should be a citizen of India
Female candidates who are unmarried/ divorced/ legally separated/ widow between the age of 16-24 Years can apply
Education qualification should be 12th pass with PCB combination is mandatory
Minimum height should not be less than 148 cms (relaxed by 5cm) in case of candidates belonging to Western Himalayan region and ST
Medical fitness will be determined as per standards applicable for commission in Armed forces.
Selection process for MNS in Indian Army:
Indian army MNS selection process is an All India level entrance test for nursing as aspirants. MNS selection process is based on online computer based examination (OCBE) and interview. Eligible aspirants will be called for computer test of *90 mins duration which is held in the month of March every year. On the basis of OCBE, all India merit list, aspirants are called for an interview which follows the month after the test is conducted. Final selection is based on combined merit of OCBE, Interview subjected to medical fitness.
And last but not the least what is the Salary of Military nurses:
All candidates after clesring their selection process will be admitted to 4 Years of Nursing course. After that they will be recruited to various defence hospitals as SSC MNS Nursing officer. They will get all the entitlement as per central govt VII CPC. Below is the salary for Military nurse:
Monthly basic pay of Rs. 15600+Grade Pay Rs. 5400+ Milaitary Service pay of Rs 2400+ DA and other allowances as per prevailing rates.
